European and American roulette wheel designs

Two different wheels can be used to play roulette - the American roulette wheel and the European roulette wheel. The key difference between both roulette wheels is that a single and double zero are found on the American roulette wheel, however, the European roulette wheel has only one zero. Another difference between the two is that if playing on an American roulette wheel the numbers are paired together across from each other. The European roulette wheel therefore is statistically more favourable to the punter than the American roulette wheel. Although attempts have been made to defeat the roulette wheel, such as Gonzalo Garcia-Pelayo's predictions at the Casino de Madrid, none of these ruses were successful over a sustained period of playing.
